February, 2026 availability. 1 room available in a 3 bed room home, with one taken by me - ja - a mid-aged male PhD student.
THE PLACE:- It is close (2-min walk) to sheltered bus routes/stops to trains including shops and supermarkets etc. The area is quiet with the river nearby. The river has much wild life - birds, kangaroos. Lots of space. The property is cleaned in and out often. The lease is extendable - to indefinitely for the right person. With a rental reduction to be expected for you after the first yr of renting.

Apply if the following relates to you:- Looking for preferably a female international student, Asian culture due to their peaceful, quiet, intelligent nature (or anybody who has such traits), a mature person who doesn’t have a child’s mentality/understands life’s challenges, who can hold a good conversation, is not a party animal, doesn’t have a need to have family or friends over often, enjoys a home that is clean, peaceful, quiet in a very safe, professional neighborhood. They need to be reliable with rental payments too please. This home will ONLY suit a person who is therefore studious, doesn’t need a car and just wants to live peacefully, WHILE accepting that I (your housemate) works on-call – so is in and out over the week.
Bond is non-applicable /negotiable. Rent needs to be paid “1-month in advance”. Utility bills are extra.
Room will be available within February 2026.
Things to be aware of:-
Public transport to either Waterfront or Waurn Ponds campus close by.
Prefer to have a female who is easy-going, care free and happy to live with male who is also care free but who is clean, polite and studious.
Gas is available at the property but not currently connected since it has not been needed by current occupants who prefer electric cooking. If you wish, you can connect the gas in your name for cooking.
The property is often cleaned and that includes all rooms and bedrooms.
The house is being renovated and is now partially completed.
ABOUT MYSELF:- I don't smoke and am clean etc. I am care free so you need to be comfortable living with a care free middle-aged male, who is also studious, and always active – river walks, rides etc.
SHOPPING - if you have no car, the easiest place to shop from is Highton Shopping district as a bus passes there about every 15 min during weekdays and it is then about 5 minutes from Borlase rd Newtown, which is 5-min walk to home.
