Housing FAQs

In the private rental market, students may have questions regarding their rights and obligations in various scenarios, including retaining, varying or cancelling their tenancies. In addition to the information provided in the Consumer Affairs Victoria fact sheets, students retain all their tenancy rights including quiet enjoyment regardless of the need to self-isolate or any other measure that emerges with the coronavirus situation. Avoid Scams

Victoria is a fantastic place to live and study. But our cities, just like any around the world, can occasionally be home to some unscrupulous activities.

Transferring or wiring money is the same as sending cash - once you send it, you are unable to get it back.

It is not a good idea to send money to someone you have never met in person and for a property you haven’t seen.

If you can’t meet in person, see the apartment, and sign a lease before you pay, keep looking for other accommodation options.
