In the private rental market, students may have questions regarding their rights and obligations in various scenarios, including retaining, varying or cancelling their tenancies. In addition to the information provided in the Consumer Affairs Victoria fact sheets, students retain all their tenancy rights including quiet enjoyment regardless of the need to self-isolate or any other measure that emerges with the coronavirus situation. An owner or agent would have no reason to question, visit or ban them from the property.
